Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes what is and isn't allowed on Roomfora. It applies to operators, bookers, and anyone else who uses the Service. The AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service; if you violate it we may suspend or terminate your account under those Terms.
1. Lawful use only
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations — including consumer protection, advertising, accessibility, employment, tax, export controls, and sanctions.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
- Infringe on the intellectual property or privacy rights of any person;
- Upload malware or attempt to probe, scan, or disrupt the Service;
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service other than your own data via features provided for that purpose;
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a written agreement with Roomfora;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
2. Prohibited businesses
You may not use the Service to operate, promote, or transact for any of the following businesses or activities. This list draws on common SaaS and payment-processor restricted-business lists (including Stripe's) and is not exhaustive — if you're unsure whether your business qualifies, email legal@roomfora.com before signing up.
- Adult content and services — pornography, escort services, adult entertainment venues, or similar.
- Weapons and ammunition — firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapon accessories.
- Federally illegal drugs — cannabis, psychedelics, and any other controlled substance illegal under US federal law, regardless of state legality. CBD businesses operating legally under federal law are permitted.
- Gambling — casinos, sports betting, lotteries, fantasy sports for money, or other games of chance for monetary stakes.
- Multi-level marketing and pyramid schemes — businesses that derive revenue primarily from recruiting other participants rather than selling products or services.
- Sanctioned countries and persons — any business operating in, or any individual ordinarily resident in, a country subject to comprehensive US sanctions (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine), and any person on the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list or equivalent.
- Get-rich-quick schemes, investment-club fronts, unregistered securities, or other businesses designed to deceive participants about expected financial return.
- Hate, harassment, and incitement — businesses whose core activity is promoting violence or discrimination against people based on a protected characteristic.
3. Prohibited content
You may not upload, post, send, store, or otherwise make available through the Service any content that:
- Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or sexually exploitative (including any content sexualizing minors);
- Is spam or unsolicited commercial communication;
- Is phishing, social engineering, or designed to obtain credentials or payment details deceptively;
- Contains malware, viruses, ransomware, cryptominers, or any other malicious code;
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, or stalks any person;
- Infringes on someone else's copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other proprietary right;
- Discloses someone else's private information without their consent (“doxxing”).
4. Anti-spam (operator member emails)
If you use Roomfora to send email to your members, bookers, or prospects, you agree to comply with the US CAN-SPAM Act and any other anti-spam law that applies to you (including CASL in Canada and the ePrivacy Directive in the EU/UK). At minimum, that means:
- Don't send commercial email to people who haven't given you permission, where consent is required by law.
- Identify yourself accurately — the sender, the “from” name, and the subject line must not be misleading.
- Include a valid physical postal address for your business in commercial messages.
- Provide a clear unsubscribe mechanism in every commercial message and honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
- Don't use the Service to send purchased or scraped lists.
Roomfora may suspend sending privileges for accounts whose mail produces excessive bounces, spam complaints, or abuse reports.
5. Reporting violations
If you believe a Roomfora user is violating this AUP, email legal@roomfora.com with as much detail as you can share — the operator or lobby URL, the content or behavior, and any supporting screenshots. We review reports promptly and will follow up if we need more information.
Roomfora may also act on credible reports we receive from law enforcement, payment processors, hosting providers, or other third parties, including by suspending an account pending investigation.
